Smooth scrolling
Every notch becomes a glide, in every app. Tune the step, speed and glide length until it feels right.
Meowse turns the jumpy, line-by-line scrolling of a mouse wheel into fluid, trackpad-like glides. It keeps your Mac awake when you need it, and uses no CPU at all when it isn't working.
Both windows get the same three notches of a scroll wheel. Hover over them and scroll with your own mouse to try it.

Natural on the trackpad, traditional on the mouse, or the other way round. Vertical and horizontal are set separately.
Hold ⌥ to scroll faster, ⇧ to scroll sideways, or ⌘ to pause smoothing. Any modifier or mouse button works.
Optional scroll phases make apps rubber-band at the edges and treat your glide like a swipe.
Keep your Mac from sleeping for 15 minutes, 8 hours or until you say so. The display can sleep while the Mac stays on.
Stay active in chat apps while you step away. It only moves once you're idle, and never while the screen is locked.
Meowse lives in your menu bar. Turn smoothing on or off, start a Keep Awake session or set the cursor wiggling, without opening a window.
Most menu bar utilities wake up in the background, over and over. Meowse runs no timers while idle: it reacts to system events, does its work on its own thread, and goes straight back to sleep.
Measured on macOS 27 with a 144 Hz display. Meowse skips motion too small to see, and still lands on the exact scroll distance.
Meowse collects nothing. Its only network request is a once-a-day check for updates, and you can turn it off.
New versions install from inside the app, only after Meowse confirms they're signed by the same developer and arrived intact.
Get Meowse.zip and move Meowse to your Applications folder.
If macOS can't verify the app, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway.
Turn on Meowse in Privacy & Security → Accessibility. It starts working within seconds.
No. Meowse only smooths scroll wheels. Trackpads and the Magic Mouse already scroll smoothly, so they're left exactly as they are.
macOS requires it for any app that adjusts scrolling system-wide. Meowse uses it only to smooth and reverse scroll events and to wiggle the cursor. It never reads your keystrokes.
Yes. Any mouse with a notched scroll wheel benefits, wired or wireless. If your mouse's own software already smooths scrolling, Meowse leaves those events alone.
